When you are thinking of getting ready for your first date with a new partner, the outfits that you choose to wear are vitally important not only for ensuring that you both look and feel good but also to make sure that you are giving off the right first impression for the partner you may or may not be hoping will become long term. Wearing something that is completely wrong will ensure that the date will be a disaster, not only because you do not feel comfortable but is a sure fire to making sure that he or she doesn’t call!

 

For women, this problem seems to be made all the more impossible to solve. Men seem to get away with anything, within reason and the dating dress code is easier to get away with. Jeans and a smart shirt with smart shoes can be worn for almost any occasion and for more formal events, black trousers or a suit will suffice. For women however, they have more options for a first date and perhaps that is why the problem is larger.

 

First dates are the most important dates and the first impression that you make will stay with the partner that you are dating with. If you know where your date will be taking you, this problem of the dating dress code can be solved a little easier. For example, an outfit of jeans, a nice top and some pretty shoes could match a trip to the movies. A trip to an expensive restaurant however would call for something a little more formal and perhaps a classy dress or a nice skirt would be the better option.

 

What happens if the date is a surprise however? If your date does not tell you where you are going, you may have no idea of what would be the best thing to wear and this is where many problems arise. A dress would look too classy and formal for a trip to the movies whereas jeans and a smart top would look completely out of place for a meal in a nice restaurant. And that is without taking into account the idea of a picnic, where both of these ideas may not be suitable.

 

One of the best things that you can do when thinking of the dating dress code for your first date is to make sure that the outfit that you are wearing will be suitable for most occasions. Black trousers can be worn for practically any event, and when teamed with the right top or shirt can be as formal as a trip to an expensive restaurant or as casual as a trip to the movies. A woman can never have too many pairs of smart black trousers and due to their versatility, they can be worn for a many number of dates, achieving different looks with different accessories and such like.

 

One of the most important things that you need to realize about the dating dress code is that you should always be overdressed rather than underdressed and by this I mean wearing enough clothing. Unless you and your date are only meeting up for one thing, and that thing being love making, an outfit that is revealing too much flesh really isn’t the best idea and can make you and your date feel uncomfortable as well as having some rather strange looks from other people!
